Scrotum lift
A scrotal lift is a surgical procedure in which excess skin and tissue is removed from the scrotum to improve appearance or relieve discomfort by tightening and reducing the size of the scrotum.
This medical procedure, which treats a sagging scrotum, can be performed together with a penis enlargement if necessary.
Possible reasons for a scrotum lift
Aesthetic reasons
Some men find that their sagging scrotum is too large or hangs too low and want a more appealing appearance by having their scrotum tightened or reduced in size.
Medical complaints
A sagging scrotum can cause various complaints that make a scrotoplasty procedure medically necessary. These can include
- Pain caused by traction or friction, for example when walking, exercising or sitting
- Skin irritation or chronic inflammation due to friction
- Functional limitations in everyday life
Procedure for a scrotum lift
1st consultation
Before the procedure, you will have a detailed consultation with the surgeon to discuss your wishes, options and the potential risks of a scrotum lift.
2. anesthesia
The procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia with twilight sleep.
3. the medical intervention itself
- The surgeon marks the excess skin on the scrotum.
- The excess tissue is removed through a skin incision. The incision is usually made in such a way that the scars are as inconspicuous as possible later on.
- The edges of the wound are closed with special atraumatic sutures. Care is taken to maintain the natural shape of the scrotum.
- The scrotum lift usually takes 30 - 60 minutes if it is performed without penis enlargement.
After the procedure
- Physical rest is recommended for about one to two weeks so as not to impair healing.
- Sports activities, sexual intercourse and heavy lifting should be avoided for at least 5 weeks after the scrotum lift.
