Dermis-fat graft
A dermis-fat graft is an autologous tissue preparation taken from the middle layer of the skin(dermis) and the underlying fatty tissue. This is a combination of stable skin structures (mainly consisting of collagen – a structural protein that provides firmness) and the body’s own fatty tissue(subcutaneous fatty tissue = fatty tissue directly under the skin).
This transplant is used in surgical procedures to replace tissue, fill defects or reinforce specific areas of the body. A particular advantage is that it is the patient’s own tissue(autologous tissue), which significantly minimizes the risk of rejection or allergic reactions.
The dermis fat graft is often used in plastic reconstructive surgery, for example for reconstruction after tumor removal, for soft tissue defects or for aesthetic tissue filling. A dermis fat graft can also be used for penis enlargement to naturally increase the girth and improve the skin structure.
For the transplant, skin-fat tissue is usually taken from an inconspicuous area of the body (such as the gluteal fold or the lower abdomen). After preparation, it is implanted in the desired location, where it grows in and remains stable in the long term.
