Ligamentotomy - cutting of the retaining ligament to lengthen the penis
Ligamentotomy is a surgical procedure that is mainly used in intimate surgery for men. The aim of this operation is to lengthen the visible part of the penis. A retaining ligament that fixes the penis in the body is cut. At our center, the ligamentotomy plays an important role in penis lengthening and is often combined with other methods such as lipofilling (autologous fat tissue transplantation) in order to achieve a harmonious overall appearance.
What does ligamentotomy mean?
The term is made up of:
- Ligamentum = ligament
- -tomy = severing
A ligamentotomy therefore means the surgical severing of a ligament. Specifically, this refers to the suspensory ligament, a ligament that connects the penis to the pubic bone. This ligament ensures that the penis is fixed in the pelvic area and points outwards at a certain angle.
How does a ligamentotomy work?
The operation is performed in several stages:
1. access to the tape
- The suspensory ligament is accessed via a small skin incision in the pubic area.
2. severing of the strap
- The ligament is carefully cut, allowing the inner part of the penis to be moved outwards.
3. fixation
- The penis is stabilized in a new position to prevent the ligament from growing back or reattaching. This can be done using sutures or special techniques.
Effect of the ligamentotomy
By cutting the ligament, the part of the penis that lies inside the body is mobilized. This lengthens the externally visible part.
- When flaccid: The penis appears significantly longer, usually 3 - 6 cm.
- When erect: The lengthening is usually slightly less, as the erection has a stronger effect on the erectile tissue. Depending on the technique and patient, however, lengthening is also possible here.
Combination with lipofilling (penis thickening)
Ligamentotomy is often combined with lipofilling (penis thickening). While the ligamentotomy lengthens the penis, the lipofilling serves to thicken it. Both procedures together create a balanced ratio of length and girth and thus lead to a more harmonious overall result.
Advantages of ligamentotomy
- Permanent lengthening: The effect usually remains after the operation.
- Combinability: Can be combined well with lipofilling or other methods.
- Improved self-perception: Many men perceive the extended penis as significantly larger and feel more confident.
Disadvantages and risks
- Change in the angle of erection: The penis may point slightly flatter downwards when erect.
- Scarring: Minor scars in the pubic area are possible.
- Risk of recurrence: The ligament can partially grow back together without careful fixation or aftercare.
- Aftercare required: After the operation, consistent stretching therapy is important to stabilize the success.
Healing and aftercare
- Rest and hygiene measures in the first few weeks.
- Regular use of a stretching device or extender is recommended to secure the new length.
- Final results are visible after a few months.
Ligamentotomy for penis lengthening
At our center, ligamentotomy is performed as a modern, safe procedure for penis enlargement. Especially in combination with lipofilling, we can sustainably improve both the length and girth of the penis. Our focus is on a functional and stable result.
Ligamentotomy is a proven procedure for penis lengthening in which the ligament holding the penis in place is cut. In combination with lipofilling or other methods, both length and girth can be optimized. For men who want a visible and permanent lengthening, ligamentotomy is an effective option that offers stable and satisfactory results with the right aftercare.
