Duration of intervention
The duration of the procedure describes the time that a medical or surgical treatment actually takes – i.e. from the start to the end of the actual procedure. It is an important factor in the planning of operations, influences the choice of anesthesia procedure (form of anesthesia) and has an impact on the patient’s post-operative recovery.
The duration of the procedure can vary greatly depending on the type and complexity of the operation:
- Minor procedures (e.g. minimally invasive treatments) often only take 30 to 60 minutes.
- Larger or complex operations can take several hours.
For procedures such as penis enlargement, the duration depends, among other things, on the technique used (e.g. autologous fat injection, dermal matrix implantation or surgical lengthening).
A precise estimate of the duration of the procedure makes it possible to organize surgical procedures efficiently, minimize risks and provide patients with optimal information about the procedure and aftercare.
Important: The duration of the procedure only includes the pure operation time and not the additional time for preparation, induction of anesthesia, recovery phase or follow-up observation.
