Lipofilling (autologous fat tissue transplantation)
Lipofilling – also known as autologous fat tissue transplantation – is a medical procedure in which the body’s own fatty tissue is removed from one part of the body and reused in another area. This procedure is often used in aesthetic and plastic surgery, for example to smooth the skin, increase volume in the face or correct unevenness. Lipofilling also plays a role in UGRS, particularly in treatments such as penis enlargement or penis thickening.
To make the meaning clear, we will explain step by step what lipofilling is, how it works and what advantages and disadvantages it has.
What does lipofilling or autologous fat tissue transplantation mean?
The term lipofilling is made up of two parts:
- Lipo = fat
- Filling = filling
So it’s literally about “filling up with fat”. The special feature: No foreign material is used, but the patient’s own fatty tissue. This reduces the risk of rejection reactions or allergies.
The term autologous fat tissue transplantation describes the same procedure, but is the more scientifically correct term. Autologous means “originating from the patient’s own body”, and transplantation refers to the transplantation of tissue. While “lipofilling” is mainly used in patient communication, “autologous fat tissue transplantation” is used more in scientific publications. However, both terms refer to the same procedure.
How does lipofilling work?
The process consists of three steps:
1. fat removal (liposuction)
- First, fat is suctioned from an area where there is sufficient fat (e.g. stomach, hips or thighs).
- This is usually done using a thin cannula and a gentle suction technique.
2. preparation of the fat
- The harvested autologous fat is purified.
- Blood, water and damaged cells are removed so that only healthy and stable fat cells remain.
3. fat injection (filling)
- The prepared fat cells are inserted into the desired body region using fine cannulas.
- There they grow and connect with the existing tissue.
Lipofilling in the genital area
In surgery, lipofilling can be used specifically for men, for example in the case of:
Penis thickening:
- Autologous fat is inserted into the skin layer of the penis.
- This visibly and palpably enlarges the circumference.
Combination with penis enlargement and/or penis lengthening:
- If the penis is lengthened surgically, lipofilling can also be used to create harmonious proportions.
- The result not only looks longer, but also stronger.
Advantages of lipofilling / autologous fat tissue transplantation
- Naturalness: Since the body's own fat is used, the result feels very natural.
- Lower risk: no allergies or rejections, as no foreign material is used.
- Double effect: In combination with a penis enlargement, the patient not only gains additional length but also increased volume on the penis shaft.
- Permanence: Part of the fat grows permanently and remains in place.
Disadvantages and limits
- Partial regression: A certain proportion of the fat introduced is broken down by the body. Usually 70-80% remains in the long term.
- Multiple sessions possible: In order to achieve optimal results, repeat sessions may be necessary in rare cases.
- Technical precision required: The process must be carried out carefully so that the grease is evenly distributed.
- Swelling and bruising: After treatment, temporary swelling and minor bruising are normal.
Healing and aftercare
- It is important to take it easy in the first few days.
- Pressure on the treated areas should be avoided.
- Slight swelling usually subsides after 1-2 weeks.
- Sport and physical exertion are usually possible again after 4-5 weeks.
- The final result is visible after a few months, when the fat has grown stably.
Lipofilling compared to other methods
- Hyaluronic acid filler: Also suitable for increasing volume, but only temporarily effective (usually 12-18 months).
- Implants: Can provide a permanent result, but are associated with a higher risk of complications.
Penis thickening with UGRS
At UGRS, lipofilling (autologous fat tissue transplantation) is mainly offered in combination with other procedures in the genital area. The method offers a good opportunity to optimize the results of penis enlargement or lengthening and to create an appealing overall appearance. By using the body’s own resources, we combine effectiveness and safety.
Lipofilling – or, in scientific terms, autologous fat tissue transplantation – is a modern procedure that uses the body’s own fat to build volume and improve shape. Especially in the area of penis thickening and in combination with penis enlargement, it offers a safe, natural and permanent way to achieve the desired result. Despite minor disadvantages such as partial fat loss , the advantages clearly outweigh the disadvantages.
